This is VERY serious. It can cause a bacterial infection and the aspiration pneumonia, not to mention the damage that your esophagus is incurring.

Hopefully you don't have permanent damage to your esophagus or lungs. If your doctor says that the band needs to come out, I wouldn't balk.  Your health is really at risk right now.
