I am currently in the physician monitored diet phase of insurance approval. Hopefully, my surgery will be in December. I am changing the way I eat now, eating a lot healthier foods and way less junk. I am trying to lose 30 pounds before my surgery. I would like to start drinking protein shakes in the morning. So this morning I bought some Whey protein powder and caramel torani syrup..... I would love any protein drink recipes that you guys might have.  Thanks a ton :)

I have fallen in love with my protein drink.  I didn't think I would ever want to drink another protein shake after the liquid phase.  I found this new protein powder at Vitamin World called "Syntax-6" (spelling might be off a little).  I get either chocolate milkshake or mochachinno.  They are both fabulous.  I add them to my coffee in the morning.  It tastes awesome!

Thanks for the suggestion, I never considered having my protein powder in a warm beverage. I will definitely try it.

I love protein shakes. I have a vanilla one. I usually put a smallnpiece of bananna and some reduced fat peanut butter. Oh I use light plain soy milk instead of water.

You can also get a powder called PB 2 that adds a peanut butter flavor to any chocolate or vanilla shake.  It has a lot less calories than peanut butter, added protein, and tastes great!

The magic bullet is great for shakes, Banana and mango are both great thickeners. Also I use sugar free pudding or yogurt o thicken. Almond milk has a 40 cal per cup vanilla version, to keep the calories down.

Thanks, I have never tried almond milk ( I actually only LIKE whole milk) but I am trying new things and whole milk is out of the equation

Almond Milk and Soy Milk are great. And no bad tasting either. I was always a 2% milk girl. Two years ago when i started protein shakes I went to soy. I love it. 60 calories for 8oz of light plain soy and 70 calories for light plain vanilla.
