Menstration and the Lapband

I just got the lapband 3 days ago. I had my period during the pre-op liquid diet. Last night, bam, I am on my period again and it is very heavy. Is this normal?

It is normal. I got mine in the recovery room and I wasn't due for another week and a half. I think it's from the trauma your body goes through in surgery. It throws everything out of whack for a bit.

You might notice as you lose weight that your hormones go a little wonky, too.

I had my lap band three days ago too! I had my period a week before surgery...and got a light flow right after surgery. Weird.

How is your weight loss these three days? I have not seen the scale move at all! I am hoping it is because of the tramua from the surgery. I remember when I had my C-section with my daughter it took a wee before the weight came off.

I had exactly the same thing! I think it has to do with stress .Sometimes I get mine during long flights as well, and I have an IUD so I really shouldnt.

I think I had a light period for like 1-2 weeks between preop and post op.
