and I broke all the rules and looked at my own report here at work.  I'm perplexed with my band, essentially other than a small esophageal dilation, its okay.  Here's the info for you nosey folks  :-)

*Stoma size is appropriate 3-4 mm
*Rapid emptying of the gastric pouch
*No evidence of pouch dilatiation, band displacement, stomal stenosis, and or band slippage
*Dilatation of the distal esophogus proximal to the GE junction with associated mild stasis within the distal esophogus and intermittant bouts of gastroesophageal reflux.

Be careful accessing your records.  A lot of places that would be grounds to terminate employment.  ( I'm a RN )

I think there are lots of others whose bands "looked" fine but still they had problems. Of course that doesn't help get you a revision tho. I hope they can find something that would allow you to get revised!! I know you've had sooo much trouble with yours too, good luck!

What are your issues?  I was banded in Aug 2005 and I am having problems with my band.  The Doc keeps telling me it is fine but I know my band & I know its not right. I can feel it and know that its not working correctly.

For awhile whenever I tried to eat dense solids (like we're supposed to) I'd have this dull achy pain at the top of my stomach, base of my esophagus.

The pain is better, but even after an unfill (tightness caused by excessive scar tissue my Dr thinks) I still get stuc****asionally and PB.

I don't know anything about hospital rules but as a patient couldn't you get copies of your complete medical record or just selected test results?

The doctor I deal with monthly advised me years ago to always get copies of everything.  I've got a drawer of films, jewl cases with digital scans, test results and doctor's notes etc.

As for your results, I don't have a clue what any of the above means.  But, isn't reflux a bad thing?  Or is it too mild to support a revision?

Yeah, I'd get the results....eventually. since I was working later the same day I did the test I just looked up the results on my own. My pcp ordered the test and I'm sure she's going to want me to take Meds for the reflux, but I'll.be sure to run things by my new surgeon. My new job's ins only covers the band so I'm sure they wouldn't cover a revision, maybe a removal.
