Hungry All The Time

After several months of having my band too tight, having it slip, and then unfilled I was able to get my first refill last Monday. The doctor put 5cc’s in the band. At one point I was at 10.8 (when it was waaaaaay too tight). 5 doesn't seem like enough but I don’t want to have issues all over again. I’ve noticed that I had some restriction the first few days after the fill, but now nothing! Is this normal? My next doc visit isn’t for another two weeks. I am trying to keep my meals small. I forgot how hard this can be when I know that I could eat more. The doctor always says meals should be 2-3 bites, but damn this is tough for me to stick too. On top of it I haven’t lost any weight. Should I be hungry ever 1 ½-2 hours? I’m feeling frustrated right now and I’m looking for some advice. What can I do to stick to the plan. I want to lose some weight but don’t want to pig out or feel like I’m starving.

2-3 bites?  I don't know where that doctor's head is at.  Your meal should be between 1/2 to 1 cup and that's definitely more than 2-3 bites, especially if you're taking small bites.  Ideally, you should be able to go for about 4 hours before being hungry.  You may need some more fill, but less than your previous 10.8.  At my peak, I was at 6 cc's and that led to reflux.  I'm now at 5 cc's and I have no problems (including getting stuck) at all.

I am speaking from my personal experience only, but after having a partial unfill for being too tight, I have never been able to get back to the type of  hunger-free restriction that I had prior to the unfill.  It seems I go from a little too loose to a little too tight now, and can't seem to get to a "just right" spot.  I have to resort much more to journaling and dieting than I did prior to the unfill.

Work with your surgeon to see if you can get back to that place.  Good luck!

Your doctor said only two to three bites per meal ??? What  the heck did your doctor hit his head on ?? I'm being very serious !!

My gosh no wonder you are hungry.  My doc if you cant eat at least 1 cup of food per meal he will take saline out of you .  He is very strict about that because we need food to live,  we do need out nutrients to survive and we need the energy for the exercise and daily living we do .

I'm sorry I dont agree with your doctor at all  And I think just from having a slip and filling you all at once with 5 cc's is to much at a time but that is just me and my personal opinion .

Why dont you try eating a cup of food like we are suppose to be eating and see if you see a big difference.  I eat a cup of food per meal and a few snacks if need be.

I can go at least 3 hrs of not wanting to eat more sometimes longer .

If you doctor keeps telling  you should only eat 2-3 bites per meal I would highly find another doctor
