Do you eat by the clock or by your (physical) hunger?

Right now I can't trust myself to actually know when I am hungry vs. when I have head hunger, so I try to stick to a schedule instead, or else, like your puppies, I would be begging all day long.

During the week  I'm pretty much on a schedule because of my exercise classes.  I know if I dont eat then I will be sicker then a dog during Zumba.

On weekends its a whole different story. I am so busy boating, swimming, fishing , and camping I actually forget to eat because I'm having so much fun . I'm very bad about skipping meals on weekends . 

During the TOM you can forget everything lol. I'm constantly staring at the clocks, and catching myself eating more snacks. I get so hungry the week before my cycle.

I will be the first one to admit during the week before my period and sometimes during my period I'm the worst person to eat healthy *sigh*.  That is something I really have to work on desperately .

I need some fuel before my morning workout too. I'd probably faint dead away within ten minutes if I tried doing Zumba with no breakfast behind me!

 I am a teacher and so I was eating on a schedule...however, I rarely get hungry.  Now that school is out I am a mess.  I eat breakfast at like 10 and that is usually a shake or some plain greek yogurt with fruit.  Then I workout at 12:30, and eat a protien bar after.  Then later in the day....I JUST DON'T EAT!   I don't get hungry and I am working in the yard or playing at the pool or reading a book or something, and I plain forget to eat.  By dinner time, late dinner, I am then a little hungry, but don't really want to eat anything because it is so darn hot.  I haven' t lost anything in about a month and I know it is because I am not eating enough.  I need to get back on a schedule!  Thanks Jean for bringing this up.

I find that I am hungry 'on schedule' so that is convenient. At my surgeon's clinic, we are told to only eat 1 cup three times a day, so I have plenty of chance to 'get hungry' by the time the next meal comes 4-6 hours after the last meal.

On the very rare occasion, I am not hungry, I eat anyway, prophylactically, because you can be sure than in 30 mins time the hunger will hit with a vengeance, and healthy choices just go out the window.

Both! I eat more or less to a schedule simply because of fixed activities in my day and because of family feeding times. But I never allow hunger, if I do I start to obsess about food. So if I do get physical hunger, then I have an extra meal. I never don't eat for worry about spoiling a meal. If a meal is imminent, I just eat something very small.

Works for me!

Have to say that I very rarely get physical hunger. If I think I am hungry but then get distracted by something, I forget that I thought I was hungry!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I have only been on solid foods for a week (was banded at the end of June) and so far, I try to eat on a scedule, mostly because it is easier for work and because I haven't had a fill and can eat more than 1 cup at a time.  So for me it is breakfast around 8:00 , snack around 10:30, lunch around 12-1 depending on meetings, snack around 3pm and dinner around 6.  WIth the heat I seem to have less hunger in the evening and I have to confess the last two nights have been protein shakes for dinner with some hummus or cheese. It's all I can muster up the effort to eat!

I usually eat on a schedule but lately this weather and errands I have to do for my father has this all off schedule. Sometimes the thought of eating in this heat is exhausting so I will drink water  or Crystal Light instead.

It's been the same way with the heat here also *sigh*. Im just not hungry and cooking to heat up the house isnt worth it either.

Back in my old days Fast Food Time .but I have been good and havent done that either .

The last couple days I have been just barely hitting a 1000 calories and that isnt enough for me .

Hopefully, it will start to cool down really soon .
