To Fill or Not to Fill
Hi all!
New member, lapbander since 04/09. I have an appt with my surgeon next Tuesday and I'm debating on whether I need a fill. I got a slight unfill for my Tummy Tuck April of this year. Didn't get it all put back in. I can't get my weight to move back down but I'm the first to admit that since you're not supposed to do any exercise for 6-8 weeks after the tummy tuck that I've completely fallen off the exercise bandwagon. I'm still about 30 lbs from goal so I need to get moving. My problem is that I can't stay hydrated. It skews whether or not I need a fill. Anyone else have a problem with that? If I have a problem with food it's because I haven't had enough to drink during the day and it gets stuck. My surgeon's office says at this point I should be a little underfilled because I should know the right way to eat and have a little leeway with my diet but I think I will always need that extra fill to be on track. Ugh, it never gets easy does it? Thanks for any help!

Having been too tight and having to have a total unfill which eventually, along with bad eating habits acquired during the months when I had issues, led to my regaining all my weight, I say fie on having a fill. I'm now a full cc below my peak at my lowest weight. I have discovered the difference between I have no hunger and can barely finish a crabcake and being satisfied. If you listen to your body, satisfied works. Satisfied, rather than really being full, doesn't lead to being stuck or reflux. It relies on you a bit more, but it's much safer. And it doesn't take too many days of reading the posts from people who've lost their bands (some because they were too tight) to make you think that satisfied is much better than really full.
