My band got removed (used to be seg1976)
I went in for emergency surgery on Tuesday night after my UGI. My band did slip and it had started to pull on my liver via adhesions.
I used to post as seg1976 but my laptop has since died and I'm using my husbands and cannot remember my password for here (it's stored in my other computer) and when I enter the email address to get it back, it says that email not registered. So I just created a new id for now.
I feel like garbage. It was not an easy surgery. My abdomen is completely swollen, I look 6 months pregnant. I do feel better overall aside from surgical pain. I was in the OR for almost 4 hours.
Interesting to note the xray did not show a slippage. However, I have a great dr who listened to me and knew my history over the past 4 yrs and knew something wasn't right. Once he got in there he could see the band slipped but wasn't showing on xray because the adhesions that formed with it were counter-pulling on both my liver and my band which gave the band an appearance of being where it should be. The theory behind the slippage is I had a horrible gi infection in June (I did), but was in between insurances and didn't go for an unfill when I probably should have. Hindsight is a wonderful tool...
Band free for now, he left the port. I can get it put back in in 8 weeks if I choose. I do not know yet whether I will or not. We'll see.

Sorry this happened to you and sending you positive thoughts for a speedy recovery.
When the time comes for you to make that decision please remember that according to Allergan ( The maker of the Lap Band ) you are now at a higher risk for a second band slipping due to all the adhesion's from your first band.
Both of my bands slipped.
