Another failed lap band?

Thanks everyone for the kind words and advice!  I called my surgeon's office this morning and they are going to work me in so that I can see him today.  Part of my problem is that I am focusing on how much more I need to lose (100 lbs) and not on how far I have already come.   When I look in the mirror I still see a person who has a lot of changing to do even though people tell me how good I look already.  Depressing and frustrating.  Hopefully my surgeon will tell me something today.
God give me the courage to change the things that I can

Can I just say that all these replies are so great and positive!! You all rock. Can't wait to get mine!

I've also heard that the highest amount of weight with Bansters is in the second year...once you've finally hit your stride and hopefully found the correct restriction. Whereas RNYers lose theirs more the first year.

Just track your food and keep exercising. It's moving around somewhere!! 55lbs gone is better than 55lbs on!!

Would hardley say that this is anywhere near a band failure! Each person loses at a different rate and you should embrace your loss and move forward. 55 lbs is a great loss. Can you say that without the bands help, would you have lost that amount of weight in a short time? I will assume no :) Best of luck with the rest of your journey, great job!

Sounds like you may need a little bit of an unfill.

I ran into the problems I was not eating enough especially because of the exercise I do.  If I go below 1000 calories a day then I wont lose weight at all .  I have to keep my calories between 1200 to 1500 calories for me to lose weight.

Eating less dont mean you will lose weight it will do the opposite keep you from losing weight .

And congrats on the weight loss 55 pounds is alot of weight if you stop and think about it .

And like pumpkin said you might need a slight unfill.  Heartburn is usually the first sign of a tight band.

OMG, keep your head up.  You just got your band!  55lbs since April is fricken amazing!  You must believe in the process, you must!

You have to keep plugging at it with each food choice you make, with every extra walk you take.  You are building, it doesn't come built.  Even with the RNY it would have been so.

All the very best to you.  Please Believe that you can reach your weight loss goal and work hard at it.  You can do this!

Thank you for the kind words!  If you don't mind me asking though, I see that you had the band but had it removed.  What happened?

If you ever need to revise, I will tell you .  You are so new, that you need to be where you are right now.  Make sure you don't keep your band tight so that you do your best to avoid any issues ( I see you're having reflux).  I loved my band when it worked and I worked it like crazy with Weigh****chers.

Best,
L
