reflux after 3 years banded

The band tightening on it's own is not uncommon. When they do an unfill there is still fluid in the tubing that creeps it's way back up and into the band pillows, which causes the band too tighten again after you have already had a partial unfill. You just need another tweek.

I suddenly developed horrific GERD and nighttime reflux after being banded 3 and a half yrs, recently and had about 1.5 cc removed in May.  When I went to the surgeon, he palpated my abdomen and was 'impressed' by the amount of scar tissue in my belly.  Once the needle was inserted without any pressure being applied by the Dr, fluid stated backing into the syringe automatically, and he just let it back out on its own.

Amazingly I haven't had a bit of reflux since.

I sure hope when I get my fill Aug 4 that I don't have reflux. Right now I'm wide open and can eat everything, scary!
