Struggling With Should I Eat Breakfast Even If I'm Not Hungry
all the weight has been lost post-op..I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
highest weight: 333 pounds (I know I gained after my last "weigh in" in the doctors office so probably it's more like 340 pounds)
current weight: 151 pounds (7/12/11)
I've been at goal (165 pounds) for 6 months now and now on maintence. I tend to go up and down depending on time of the month and such!
Good question, Sandra!

I have never been a breakfast person. However I do always eat it now. My husband is diabetic and I was at his apt. with the RN that works with all the diabetics at the Drs. office. She was explaining to him how important it is to eat breakfast b/c after going so long without eating, the liver (or pancreas, I forget which) can sense the lower blood sugar level and start dumping sugar to make up for it.
Anyway it seemed to make sense and I thought it would be beneficial in terms of weight loss in general to start off with breakfast.
Good luck.
Meal timing is irrelevant therefore eating breakfast isn't necessary. The important part is ensuring that you are meeting your protein and dietary fat goals at the end of the day. Eating at set times throughout the day has proven to have very little effect on weight-loss or this "metabolism" boost so many people speak of. It doesn't exist nor does breakfast boost your metabolism. Your body is highly adaptable and will work on the feeding schedule you provide it.
I do a 14 hour fast and eat my days calories within 8 hours because that's what works for me. I got tired of bringing all sorts of food to work and in the end I found that I'm not hungry until 10-11, so why eat any earlier? Eat when you're hungry; it really is that simple :)
