Not so good NSV
Oh my god! I'm having mixed feelings right now. I usually don't post much, but had to post this. I was given some tickets to a swanky party. It was going to be on a yacht on a lake! The only thing was I had to wear all white. I was so excited! Finally getting a life. Didn't think it was a problem until I hit the mall.
I ended up going to several places. I tried on this extra sexy dress. Too big at the top and perfect at the bottom. They didn't have a smaller size. Long story short, I ended up going to 8 different stores, tried on infinite amounts of dresses, pants (I am very hippie!), and shirts. The problem is I'm between sizes. One size will be big while a smaller size is too tight. Women is big, misses too small! I'm 2 sizes smaller on top than the bottom so plain, shift dresses were out. I just don't know. I'm grateful that I have lost all of this weight, but sometimes success is bitter sweet!

The other posters have had some great suggestions, but I just wanted to reply to commiserate with you!
I have a similar problem. I've lost weight like crazy on top, but it seems like my thigh area is as big as ever. I'm out of plus sizes, but some 16s are still tight in the upper leg area and I wish there was a little more room there, but if I go up to the 18, it's far too baggy. Yet on top my collar bones are sticking out (even my spine in certain areas) and some larges are getting baggy.
Like you, I'm so thankful to have lost this weight, but it will be really nice when I don't fall in-between the sizes. I'm hoping the next 20 lbs I lose comes off the thighs!!

Yes, I know my problem is actually a good thing. I do realize I could have done the two piece outfits, but truth be told, I was looking for a shorter one piece. I feel sexier and want to look it. I'm tired of the long skirts and shirts I used to wear to cover up everything. Honestly, a lot of the two piece stuff looked frumpy. I know now I have to continue looking in more stores until I find my niche. I think I will see if I can somehow get the butt and thighs to go down, but unfortunately, I have always had them. I remember a very slim picture at me and I was all butt and legs. Sad part is I was FOUR years old in that picture! Thanks for all of the support and input! I feel much better after leaving the mall in tears. I will continue on this journey and appreciate every minute of it!
Get thee to a tailor. Immediately! It is some of the best money I've ever spent, regardless of my size. The first time I went was before I started trying to lose weight and I was furious with myself the whole time because I kept telling myself that I was too fat to deserve to spend money on a tailor but what is really amazing is that when clothes fit you WELL, regardless of the size, they just LOOK BETTER.
I remember reading a list somewhere of people that you should always have in your life. They were things like "a friend who pushes you out of your comfort zone" and "a friend who let's you get angry" but for me that list also includes an EXPERT lingerie fitter and a really, really good tailor.
