Hey All,
New to having my band adjusted. Got it done 2 weeks ago. Ate chicken yesterday (All good)..ate the same chicken today, and it feels like someone has stabbed me in my chest. Have an over abundance of mucas, and its been about 10 min. How do I know if its going down or coming up, and what can I do. I also have panic disorder, so im freaking out which im sure is tightening everything more. PLEASE HELP !

Papaya enzyme can help break down proteins sometimes. U might try that.

Should u be eating chicken this early? Most Drs. recommend liquids the first 2 wks. and then mushies.

Ive had the band for 3 years but just kinda got back into the "swing of things" by getting a fill... he said liquids for 48 hours. Got my band filled actually the 20th of june, so its been almost 3 weeks. Unfortunately im at work, so i cant grab any enzyme at the moment

First of all, calm down!  Take a deep breath.  Panic will not help at all!
Try drinking something warm like tea.  It will either help it go down, or help it come up.  Either one would be o.k. at this point.  It's better not to just suffer through.

There's a funny thing about left overs, (assuming the same chicken you ate today means that is was left over from yesterday)...I can't eat anything that's re-heated!  Either it dries the food out too much or the consistency changes for some other reason but I avoing left overs.  No matter what it is, it rarely works, veggie and meat alike.

Some people try papaya enzyme to help break down foods that are stuck.  I've tried it and I don't know if it really helps or not, but the cheable tablets taste good!  You can get them in the viatmin section of any store that sells vits.

Hang in there and be careful with leftovers hot or cold.

Ive burped a couple times, but nothing comes up, so im assuming its leaning towards the way of going down, but how do i know for sure? And how long does this pain the chest come and go for? Sorry for all the questions

Stephanie I'm sorry. I wasn't reading that completely. Thought u just got the band 2 wks. ago.

U might try 2 or 3 swallows of Coke. I know carbonation is not usually recommended, but when stuck it can sometimes help it go down..............or come back up.

Hope u feel better soon!
