Complete Failure

You came to the right place! If it is bigger than the palm of your hand don't eat it. Cut all your food down to bite side pieces smaller than your finger nail. Chew chew chew until you are so tired of chewing. Then walk away from the plate, kitchen, table and don't go bac****il you ask yourself are you really hungry or can you be busy doing something else.
I used to have a sign on my fridge that said "10 sit ups fatty" and I was really good about doing them before I opened it. I think its time for me to put that sign back up!

I would start out with a visit to your surgeon and tell him/her what you wrote here.  An Upper GI would be a good  thing to check out your band status. Hopefully you haven't stretched your upper pouch or esophagus.

Good luck,
Kristi

You are not a failure. You have just admitted you have a problem and asked for help. Please do go see your surgeon, that is what they are there for. Forgive yourself for not being perfect, it was never possible anyway. This winter my chronic pain got very severe and I found myself in the same situation; dealing with pain by eating. No one of us can say we have never let something get the best of us the point is that you want to start over and you really can do it! Come here frequently, ask questions, we will do our best to help out. God bless, Sue

You are not a failure...when you are ready - you will not fail....I am almost to two years and still working on the initial poundage again because I didn't work with the band...you are not alone. I think sometimes we think - ok - I had the surgery now FAT BE GONE....and that is just not how it happens... for any of us. Stop and think everytime you want to eat - today, in this moment do I want this? or will it be there later when I want it? It's mine I can have it anytime...just not right now...you are not a failure. You are human and real. You are perfect the way you are...realize your potential.

Since you are able to eat somewhat large amounts at a time, I wonder if you need a fill. I would work with your doctor for sure. Make an appt. and let him/her know how things are going. Best wishes, keep us posted on how your doing.

I second what everyone else said WRT your band...but I wanted to mention something about your headaches.
Do you monitor your blood pressure?
I've known more than 1 person with chronic headaches who turned out to have difficult to diagnose high blood pressure and once they were on blood pressure medicines, their headaches stopped.

Thank you everyone for your words of wisdom, I have read all of your suggestions and will certainly implement them (as best I can).   I think just coming back here is a huge step as I've been avoiding this website for so long.   I will post updates and let you all know how I'm doing.. feel free to send me suggestions as you think of them, I welcome any and all wisdom from those who understand my situation. My friends especially the thin ones don't get it.

I have read about numerous problems with the band and the different things that can develop.  I'm not sure but I've heard of left shoulder connection could there be one with your headaches and the band?

I suffered nerurological issues, joint pain and swelling and chronic headaches whild I was banded, upon removal all the symptoms dissapeard and I have not had any of these issues since my band was removed.

To the OP - ask for an Upper GI and make sure your SURGEON looks at the actual films and not just the report from the person doing it (I had a CT scan that was said to be completely normal, but when my surgeon looked at it he knew I had a slip).

Kelly, Kelly, Kelly... I am with you girl! I was banded in 2007 and I am now 20 pounds HEAVIER than before I got banded. I got a fill two weeks ago and haven't lost an ounce but I will keep trying. Let's do this together! I am starting over- and today's my four year bandaversary. I need help, too. I can't live like this anymore. We WILL be successful!
