Had a band done almost 8 years ago. Lost 130# but have had several surgical procedures for knees, rotator cuff.  My problem is I need to lose another 80# but having a hard time getting inthe groove. Exercise  has been limited but I am trying to walk and get back to water aerobics.  Appreciate any suggestions.

can you do the pool?- and of you cant to the legs at all -get a cheap wheelchair at the thrift store and go. it takes alot of energy to push that, and you will make muscle in the uppper torso and slowly introduce your legs. I saw some one do that once

You've had amazing success and have kept off the 130 lbs through all of the surgeries, etc.!  That's wonderful!  Many of us that have lost a significant amount of weight and are more than a year post op find ourselves struggling to lose the last bit of weight to make it to goal.  Finding the motivation after the initial "high" of losing a lot of weight and reaching numerous other goals is difficult.  I'm exactly where you are, I lost 100+ lbs and am goofing off and am not making the choices I know I need to make to lose the 30-50 lbs I want to reach goal.

Today I'm focusing on getting back to basics and eliminating sweets and bad carbs.  It's not easy but I know that's what is making the difference between losing and not losing for me.  Exercise is also an issue because I'm in denial about what it really takes to make exercise a regular part of my life.

Like many of us, we know what to do, now it's a matter of finding the motivation.

Coming here is a great first step.  You should share your WL story since you are one of the longest banded people we have on this forum.  Maybe reviewing where you started and the progress you've made over time will help inspire you.  For me, reviewing my before pictures really helps me cut myself some slack when I'm too hard on myself!

As far as exercise goes, water is going to be your best choice. But besides that, simple walking, even if it's 10-15 minutes per day is better than nothing.  Get some hand weights and do some are exercises while sitting watching t.v., etc.  Every little bit counts!

Best~

Thanks Lisa.  I sometimes think I am a failure but I know it is just my wrong choices.  I really need to just do it.

You can't be a failure when you are working through issues to get motivated and start again.  You can only be a failure when you give up and refuse to try any more.  You got this!
