I.AM.STRUGGLING,
Have been for three years.....hope to get back on the band wagon.
I just sent emails to two old "OH" frineds. I really need help...drinking too much wine....eating too many easy foods. I never thought it would be so hard.....am hoping that I can have some sucess before my bandiversary.
mebee and chrisbykate.....I hope to hear from you!!!

You just took the first big step; you admitted you have a problem and asked for help. Now forgive yourself for not being perfect. Beating yourself up won't help but will surely set you back. Then just take a few little steps at a time. For example, start logging all your food/drink. Many of us do it online because all the calorries, carbs, protein, etc. are figured for you. Then maybe cut back on something and start walking a bit. Easy steps. You didn't get everything done right away in the beginning and if you get overwhelmed now you will harm your progress.
I hope this helps a bit, post often with your progress we will be cheering you on.

I am in the same boat as you are, did great the first year and then put back 45lbs and struggling to take it off. I was banded in Feb of 2007, the weight came off so easy and then it stopped. I also eat easy foods because I don't want to get stuck and I want to feel full.
Its just time that we "band together" to get back on track.

I know this for sure, that I did not have an operation on my head! It is my head that gets in the way when I think I can have an extra piece of this or that.
You seriously need a good nutritionist and to be held accountable for everything you eat.
Do you write a food/drink journal? My nutritionist makes me write each day what I eat.
"IF you BITE IT ...WRITE IT" is her philosophy.....
Get a support group. OA is great (overeaters anonymous).....
Keep sharing!

Sorry you are having a hard time. I would take one step at a time. For sure I think the first step is to cut out the wine. It has tons of calories and reduces your inhibitions so you may eat things you wouldn't otherwise. Then, I would cut down on carbs. Next, I would start an excersise program. Start out slow and gradually increase your duration/intensity. Also, make sure you are getting at least 60 gms of protien and 64oz water a day. Journaling would be great. Hope this helps! Keep us posted on how your doing.
Hi - I'm sorry you are struggling
I like to record my food and water on Myfitnesspal.com. It's not perfect, but it is fairly convenient and I can print out the info to share with my NUT (nutricianist (can't spell)).
I also had to get tempting food out of the house. Even though I'm only on pureed, I'm eyeing up my daughter's snacks (maybe I could?). I just had surgery, so that has been a motivator to comply. But I told my family "we're in this together" and we won't be bringing that kind of stuff into the house.
I have several friends who are "naturally thin" but they don't allow "bad" foods into the house.
There is a support meeting here on OH too (barriatric buddy). It's Mon nights.
I wish you the best!
