I actually don't eat them. I get all my protein in by eating meat, cheese, yogurt etc. I bought a box one time and I ate one a day and really had to stop myself from eating more than one a day. Too tempting for me.
I can't remember whic poster said, but I agree with getting a bunch of different kinds to try.
At first I didn't worry about calories as I was more worried about getting in my protein. I chose the mid range protein bars (10g-12g) at first. I like Pure as well. If I knew I was getting more protein with meat, cottage cheese, cheese, eggs (though some folks can't do eggs) then I would go for a lower protein bar as a snack.
I overdosed on ALL of them it seems now though (it's been over a year with my band) and can't stand the taste now (especially the high protein ones). I will carry them in my bag/purse though just in case I find I'm in a place where I can't get my protein for the day.
You'll find one that works for you!

Thanks ladies!!! Those sound great! I am afraid they will be like a candy bar to me and I'll want them all the time, but in a few weeks I'm starting on solid food right about the time I'll be starting the fall semester at my new college!!! So I'm afraid I won't be able to get all my protein in with me in class all the time, living in the dorm room, adjusting to that, AND adjusting to my band being freshly filled and starting on solids, which entails having to learn what I can eat and how much without getting sick. BAD TIMING!!! But sigh, that's just how it goes I guess.
Thanks again!!! :)
Keep up the good work!
God Bless,
Kellie

Kellie, it will all workout.
Do you have a fridge in your dorm room and access to a kitchen? Boil some eggs.. they're high in protein and easily portable.
Bumblebee makes easy to take along tuna salad and chicken salad kits.
Jack links beef jerky is good for protein if you don't have sodium issues.
String cheese is easily portable & will keep for a few hours w/o refrigeration (thinking a few hours in a backpack..).
There's protein in lots of things that you wouldn't think of it being in. My oatmeal has 7 grams of protein... who would've thunk?
Good on you for tackling your health issues at an early age.. go you!!
