I hate my band

I'm so sorry you are going through this.  It sounds awful.  To not know what is going to go down and when must be so frustrating.  I don't have answers, just hugs.  I'll be thinking of you and hoping things will work out well for you.
One day at a time, and one meal at a time, and I WILL reach my goal!

OCMomma, you are really having a horrible experience.  I am here just to offer support and hope you get some answers this week.  Keep us posted!

I can not offer any similar experience --- just my heartfelt sadness that you have to go through this.

I don't know the answer -- some people seem to have a really 'easy' time with the band (I am one) and some people struggle == through no fault of their own.

The curious side of me wonders if there is an underlying 'rejection' to the band -- I know that they say that it is hypo-allergenic, blah, blah, blah ---- but I don think that some people's immune systems just reject the notion of a 'foreign body' ---- sort of a low-level allergy.

I am not a medical person -- just my personal observation/speculation.

Regardless, I hope that you get some answers soon - and that you get resolution to this.

I agree with Kath on this one. The band is a "fickle witch" as one poster put it and it definitely isn't for everyone. There's a lot more research on which procedure works best for which demographic. If I had known more, I may have chosen differently. However, that said, best to stay close to the surgeon and ask for a CAT scan if this continues. You didn't sign up for this misery and no one deserves to go through the kind of pain you describe.
Best of luck,
Mary

You definitely sound too tight to me. I would talk to your doctor about a slight un fill. Hope you get relief soon.

Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16

well I ended up at the ER today for a slight unfill ( again) and some IV fluids as I couldn't keep anything down for over 24 hours.    My doc actually came to the ER to do the unfill . ( God love him on 4th July even).

He actually took out about .25 cc.   I go back next week after the Upper GI to see whats going on.  I am praying thats all we needed to do was tweek it a little.    Keep me in your prayers :)

Please be careful with this, OCMomma. This reminds me SO much of my own experience and after about a year, I was so anemic and  malnourished from not being able to eat and being dehydrated. I mean, it was really, really bad.   People were asking me if I was sick everywhere I went. And I WAS... I just didn't realize it.

Please take care and I hope the unfill helps. But if it's something more serious going on, remember that your long term health is more important.

I don't know what your response was, but is my concern for your health rubbing you the wrong way? If so, I won't comment anymore.

So glad to hear you are doing better today. Hopefully that unfill will make a big difference.
