Not braggin', really!!!

Ok 2 mos ago I decided to have my band emptied and see how it went. It continued to tighten even without a fill before that and it was too expensive to self pay for all the fills and unfills needed. Now I probably have the least will power on the face of the earth and yes I've splurged a few times. However here I am 2 mos. out and still the same weight, which is good, wasn't even concerned with losing just maintaining for now. I still eat bandster for the most part and concentrate on protein. I also indulged in my favorite hamburger joint, the burger was great, fries eh they were OK not really worth the chewing effort tho. So life is still good and an empty or missing band doesn't have to mean the end.
I'm not writing this to toot my own horn but to give the rest of you hope that even if or when we don't have full control of our bands we can still make good choices and splurge on occasion if we are mindful of our eating and make a few plans for eating. I'm not logging food right now but if I start gaining that's the first thing I do. I think we have far more control than we think we do. So don't just automatically throw your hands in the air if you have to be emptied or lose your band, you still have choices and control! So keep up the good fight, you deserve the best for yourself!!!

You might not feel the need to brag but you should!!! That is great that you've done all that without the band being filled after having had it filled before!  i think you should be Very proud of yourself!!!

Even though I despise band bashing posts, it is always in the back of my mind that something may happen to my band, I don't bury my head in the sand about it.  I am glad that you are still making yours work for you!!!!

Congratsthat's fantastic, it takes a lot to maintain your weight with no fluid in your band. I know first hand been UN filled for 1 month. I sure feel better than I did. I still am not sure if I am going to stat to re fill or not if all goes like it has,  I will not have fluid put  back in. I am glad you posted it really help me to see others are doing good. Feel free to toot your horn anytime..

Congrats. Wishing you much success.  I stress now that I am self-pay and have not had a fill since.  I made an appointment but Drs office cancelled.  I'm taking it as an indication that I can wait.  Still working toward goal by November. Thanks for the encouragement to keep up the fight.  Take care
