Yep 6/24, hubby went first, then me. We were out of the clinic by noon. Had an excellent recovery. I saw your date on another post. We can help keep each other motivated!

Yes!! For sure! We'll keep each other motivated!
I thought of your husband early this morning. I thought "what about deviled eggs?" You could kind of modify them. I know he doesn't like hard boiled eggs, but if you add mustard and mayo to them, they're pretty good :)
You could mix it all together and puree the yellow and white parts. Honestly, he might even be able to eat them like regular deviled eggs.
Just a thought.
How are you doing ?
I'm loving my band already!  I have never had the absense of hunger. I am so thrilled by it!! I hope it lasts!!
Have a great day!!!

Crab cakes? Um, yum. Where are all of the recipes people are referring to?

My doc's office is the most organized office you've ever seen!

At my first appointment they gave me a binder filled with tons of stuff. Each subsequent appointment has been more info.

Some of the recipies come from it, others from here, or blogs, and still more from books.

The crab cakes are from a recipie we've used for years, just pureed it. Same with the salmon cakes and tuna melt (broiled after puree, not sure if that's ok, but I'm fine so far!).

The ricotta bake is from OH (don't know who, sorry): 1 cup ricotta, 1/2 cup parmesan, 1 egg, italian spices, top with marinara and mozzerella cheese and bake for about 30 mins. (I'm eating it now and it's wonderful!)

Refried beans: I fill a 1/2 cup measurning cup with pureed beans and cheese. Melt in microwave, add FF sour cream, taco sauce or pureed salsa. Yummy!

Blogs I've found (I know there are so many more): http://www.jeanslapbandjourney.blogspot.com/

http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/11/party -like-rock-star-post-wls-style.html

http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/1398

and I think there are some recipies on: http://realliferealeating.blogspot.com/

I also bought books:
"The complete idiot's guide to Eating well after weight loss surgery", and "Eating well after weight loss surgery: over 140 delicious low-fat, high-protein recipes"
and when I have a few more pennies: "recipes for life after weight-loss surgery: delicious dishes for nourishing the new you"

Not trying to make this exhaustive, but I also ask friends, coworkers, etc for favorite recipes.

Hope some of that is helpful!

Bon appetit!

Thank you so much. It never occurred to me that there were cook books available. The recipes sound great and I appreciate you taking the time to lay all of this out for me.

Taco bell refried beans are great, and cheap.   going from liquid to regular food is hard on the stomach.  Also Wendy's chili, toss in  a blender, place in a thermos and too good!!  Good luck to you!

Yeah- where are all these recipes? I'm pretty bored with what I'm eating. I'm 7 days out and would love some ideas!

Yeah! I need good soft food ideas as well! I'm 7 days out of surgery and I'm starting the soft food within a day or two.

I got the baked Ricotta recipe from here a few weeks ago, it was posted in the forum. I can't remember who posted it though.  If I can find it online I will repost, otherwise will have to retype it tonight after work - unless someone else reposts first.  I also got a recipe for crustless quiche - basically eggs, milk and cheese blended then Stir in some pureed broccoli, asparagus, peppers or other vegetables, pour into mini muffin tins and bake. They can be eaten cold or microwaved for 30 seconds.

I am planning to try the refried beans tonight. I thought I would put them in a small casserole dish, top with some shredded cheese and heat. Then pour on some pureed salsa and some FF sour cream and eat!

Today my amazing Exec Assistant brought me a beef and noodle soup that she made and then pureed, I am going to try it for lunch. She is the only one who knows about the surgery and has been a godsend!   Way out of her job description to bring me lunch but that is the kind of person she is!
