I saw my reg Doc in June and for the first time he coded my ins claim 278.01  morbid obesity - could this be a part of my 3 mo dr surprvised weight loss count? My surgeon was on vacation and i am just starting him in July, I want very badly to be done by Dec 31, just dont know if that would work. I have read some folks just the weigh in at any dr, counted, Anyone?

Yes.  Everything was coded for me as morbid obesity treatment as well in order to have insurance cover it.  That is how I understood it anyway.  I hope this helps!  Good luck with the process!

Thanks, of course that is IF the surgeon wants to share into his plan. They seem to be over thorough.  I have  Fed BCBS  and they only asked for 2 years of obesity, they still made me search for 5 years of Drs records. I guess next week I will get all my questions answered.

Might wanna call and ask .For my ins I had to weigh in and talk about diet and exersize each month during my supervised diet part . My surgeon even sent a generic form letter to give the PCP an idea of what they (the ins co) were looking for. His notes needed to be very detailed each visit. I have Aetna Ins.
I hope you can count it and are already a month ahead of the game ! Good luck to you on your journey :) It is an exciting time and a nerve racking process but so worth it!

Yea, I read one lady her gyn Dr sent his his weight  record and it was fine, but all these insurances are so different, even from state to state, makes NO sence
