too much at once?
Sorry, Kath, but you opened up the door for this...
I happen to have 9 dogs who would LOVE to come live with you and eat your leftover hamburgers. They promise with all their heart and soul to be good dogs and never piddle, puke or poop inside, if you will just give them a few bites of a nice juicy burger with cheese, maybe once a day? To show their sincere interest, they are signing this post:

Jamie, look at how well you are losing! Is eating ever uncomortable? If you and your doc are happy with your loss rate, and nothing is uncomfortable, it should be OK. Sometimes, I eat too fast or the bites are too big, and I have discomfort, or right after about the 3rd bite of dense proteins. But if I just wait a couple of minutes after the 3rd bite, I have no problems with the rest. Our next support group meeting is about pouch and esophagus stretching. (My doc is sharing info from a bariatric convention he just got back from a week or 2 ago.)
I haven't read the rest of the responses, just answering because i saw this :)
How big is the hamburger and does it include a bun? Tonight I had a 3 ounce turkey burger plain with 4 mini roasted red peppers. I was very full at the end. I didn't have any stuck issues at all and chewed fine.
I don't have a fill yet but I definitely could not have eaten more. I didn't think it was too much at all!

Thank you everyone for the responses! BTW, the dogs are so darn cute! But you know what, it goes the same with my hubby. I actually have to watch myself, because I notice when I don't finish something and I know he will, I'm like, here you wanna finish this....I gotta watch myself.
I think it was like a 4oz uncooked, so 3oz cooked burger w/ bun. that is a good idea though, only eating 1/2 the bun! Good suggestion!
Honestly ladies, I haven't had any issues, I love love love the band, it has let me do lots that I never thought possible, and I'm only down 40 lbs, I can't imagine what I will want to do when I'm down another 40!! I don't mean that by saying I'm "only" down, its a wonderful accomplishment. I just have visions of my pouch being stretched out and I'm so terrified....I try not to think about it, but I think the minute I start not to think about it, is the minute I will have an issue.
My doctor was very very pleased with my progress and acted surprised when he saw that I lost almost 10 lbs in a month, 9 lbs to be exact! He looked at me at my last fill, and said, "how did you do that? At this point a lot of our patients are losing a lb a week, but thats more then that!!!" I said, "smaller portions and exercise"! I was so proud of myself!
So thank you everyone for putting my mind at ease. I knew that you ladies and gents (if we have any here!!) would understand!
thank you again and have a great 4th!!!!
