That protein shake sounds wonderful!  Where do you get your powder protien from and what kind of protein do you use?  I bet I could use a vanilla atkins shake and blend it all together, but I wi**** was more protein?  what do you suggest?

thanks
I get my protein powder from GNC.  I buy their brand, and they have all flavors!!  My favorite is the mixed berry flavor, with 1/2 banana and 1 cup oj.  YUM!!

I rarely use milk for my protein shakes, I prefer the tart citrus of the oj.  I like my "shakes" more like smoothies.

Yes, I"m sure you could use an atkins shake.  The GNC Whey is 120 calories for 1 full scoop and 20 grams of protein. I only use 1/2 scoop though, because 1 full scoop is close to 1/4 cup.  When I'm making just ONE shake/smoothie, 1/2 cup powder makes it too think and kinda grainy.   No thanks. LOL

It's the opposite for me - cold weather my band is tighter, warm/hot weather it looser. My first thought is how much water are you drinking? If are outside in the heat my suggestion is to increase your fluids and decrease sodium. Dehydration equals tighter band!

If increasing your fluid doesn't help you may want to talk to your doctor about a tiny unfill.

So for the last 3 days it hase been well over 100 degree here...all of a sudden its hard to eat...I can drink fine...but breakfast and lunch are impossible! I take a few bites...get the yucky feeling then I throw up?! What the heck?! I may need an small unfill during the summer here! This is miserable...I cant go anywhere and eat with out worrying about getting stuck or throwing up!
I do fine for breakfast and lunch, but dinner is the devil!  We're in the Bay Area right now and the AC is out....taking it really easy.

Yes, humidity has a lot to do with the band tightness, but so many other factors influence it as well. It's all part of living with the band.
Add high heat and high humidity and you may really feel the tightness. You just have to eat less or eat more slowly. I notice the tightness in the really hot and humid weather, but also when I'm under stress or exercise as well.
It's so fickle and we just have to learn to live with its strange behavior.
Best,
Mary

And here I thought that I was the only one living with the band that seems

tighter during high humidity and temperature changes!
Glad to know I'm not alone....
