Has anyone taken or know anyone who has used HCG?  I have a friend looking at this and I am not so sure it is safe...

On the road again....so glad to be on the road again....

Another gimmick, IMO. Who couldn't lose eating 500 calories a day?

3 different friends did it -- the only thing they lost long term was money

It is a short term appetite suppressant --- users take in 500 calories a day for 3 weeks -- drop weight and then gain it back when they return to normal eating.

I'm with everybody else.  Waste of money.  Didn't lose a pound.  And anybody on 500 calories a day wouldn't need any other help from a supplement/drug.  At 500 calories a day, you better drop the weight and fast.

I have a friend who has lost about 70 lbs on HCG, she is on her 3rd cycle of it and loves it. The other day she posted on facebook that her hair was falling out (not a good sign) basically the same problem people have when they have weight loss surgery and their hair falls  out. Its just like anything else, low calories, fast weight loss but more than likely the weight will come back on again. Be careful if you are planning on trying it, I thought about it but decided not to go there.

I posted a few weeks ago that I have been on the Hcg Diet (using sublingual drops) since late April and have lost 30 lbs.  I just began the 2nd round last week so I can lose 20-30 more.  You can say all the negative things you want about it, but I have struggled since 2006 with regain (I had WLS 2003 and lost to goal weight 1 year later).  Every year I've put on 10 or so pounds, until I had regained over 60 lbs.  This is the first thing that has worked for me.  I'm sure there are fly-by-night companies selling drops that are ineffective, or even possibly dangerous.  I learned about Omnitrition (the company where I purchase my drops) through a bunch of friends in Florida who have been on the drops and lost weight, and have maintained their weightloss.  They have not lost hair, they have not had any type of side effects.  I personally know a number of women and men who are doing quite well on the program.

It was either this or eventually gain all my weight back.  I'm sticking with this!

Betsy,

I am considering Omni for my HCG.....but I have questions.  Can you do the drops while taking vitamins (I had gastric bypass in 2006)?...I heard you shouldnt stay on the diet for more than 4 weeks at a time?  Figured I would ask you since you've been doing this.

Stacy,
You can stay on the diet/drops for maximum of 45 days. Then you must do 3 weeks of maintenance before going on another 45 day round of diet/drops. For instance round 1 (45 days) I lost 28 pounds. Stabilized for 3 weeks, then Round 2 I lost 18 pounds, followed by another 3 weeks of maintenance. I was only on Round 3 for 4 weeks when I reached my goal, losing a total of 53 pounds, since late April. I am now on Phase 4 for Life, and learning what it takes to stay at goal weight. Here is where I am basically reinstituting those post-gastric bypass rules we all learned.

Email me at [email protected] for more specifics.
