Easy way out???? Bullsh*t it is!!!

I have mixed feelings about it being the easy/hard way to take the pounds off.

The easy part for me is that I can not eat bread or sandwiches anymore. The hard part is that I (sometimes) miss eating a sandwich or PIZZA!

The easy part is that I love my new (almost) normal sized frame. The hard part is that I had to part with many beautiful plus sized clothing...I'm a clothes horse

The easy part is smiling every morning because I enjoy lfe so much more these days. The hard part is when I wear out my family walking/biking.

The easy part is knowing which foods will cause me to experience a stuck episode and to stay away from them , no matter how delicious they may taste. The hard part is when people mention that I don't eat that much during a meal...I really dislike hearing that especially since our nation's portion sizes are wayy too big!

We are so lucky to have a choice about wls and in the end it is up to us ( not our spouses or family memebers) as to whether we want an aide in our in journey.

I didn't read any of the other replies so you may have already heard all this.

70% of all relationships end when one partner has wls. Your husband is worried that you'll drop the weight and walk out.

If you don't have a good personal support system (like your spouse) this is a very difficult journey.  Its not easy when you have support but when you don't.......

Your husband will probably be an enabler and offer you all kinds of goodies to slow or even stop your progress.  Its his way of making sure you stay fat and with him.

It is DEFINITELY not the easy way out.  There's someone in my support group who says that when another woman tells you that, ask her if she's had any children and did she have an epidural.  If she did, ask her why she took the easy way out.  With a man, ask if he's ever had a tooth pulled.  If he had novacaine, he took the easy way out.  Just stands to reason.

Good luck to you.  I can't imagine walking a mile in your shoes.  This board could be a real life saver for you.  I wish you well.

I think he is afraid your going to get thin and you won't need him anymore. Trust me, I am also going to have WLS and the other day he said something about Doctors and I blew up at him and yelled
"I am doing this for ME"! But he was only talking about what a racket they have going.. hee hee.
But, just so you know he has loved me and stood by me several weight losses.
Hoping to have my date soon!
