I'm so sorry, Courtney.

I totally relate to what you're saying. I had a very similar experience and I feel for you.

Keep your head up, work through how you're feeling and give yourself some time to heal.  I'm wishing the best for you.

You poor thing. It sounds awful, a bandster's worst nightmare.

Here's to a speedy recovery and successful sleeve.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Good luck. This can happen to anyone.
If you are unsure about holding your weight, maybe consulting with a nutritionist could help. Even if you end up with 1000 calories, that might help before the revision is done.
My surgeon told me that he removes more bands than he puts in mainly because the band is a foreign object and the body works to reject it.
Hang tight, things will eventually improve.
Best,
Mary

What your surgeon says makes no sense. Artificial joints, pacemakers, heart valves, etc are foreign objects as well, and I don' t hear anyone saying our bodies "want" to reject those items.

I'm so sorry to hear this! It's good that you have the chance to revise in a couple months. Just try to keep your sanity in the meantime and don't beat yourself up too much if you do put on a few pounds.

Oh wow.  I am so sorry, that is really scary and horrible and I can't imagine how nervous you must be for the next few months until you have your VSG.  But consider this... you lost almost 100 pounds.  And as you well know, the band doesn't do it for you, you had to work to lose that 100 pounds and you had to change a lot of your behaviors.  So have some confidence in what you've learned.  Yes, the next few months will not be easy and you will struggle some.  But to lose almost 100 pounds, you were doing something right.  You may not be giving yourself enough credit.  Maybe the lifestyle changes you've made in the process of losing such a significant amount of weight will help you to not regain until September.  Just take it a day at a time and have confidence in yourself!!  We'll be cheering you on!
