Fill and weight GAIN

I had a fill last Thursday.  I was on protein shakes for three days.  I am now drinking a shake for breakfast, 1/2 of protein for lunch and maybe 1/2 of veggies if I have room, and 1/2 cup of protein and veggies for supper.  I have gained weight!  I am more restricted now than I have been the whole times.  I have gained two pounds.  What is going on?  I am getting discouraged with eating so little and then not seeing the results.  The last time I got a fill I lost seven pounds.  Any suggestions?

I flucuate 2 or 3 lbs frequently.  I wouldn't worry about 2lbs yet.    Give it a little more time.  Not every fill will give the exact same results.

And as you get closer to goal, the lbs come off slower.

The scale isn't the only measure of success, we also need to look at our improved health, more energy, improved physical strength & agility and looser fitting clothing.

It's very close to the first of the month.. why not take your measurements now and then take them again in a month (or 2 weeks if you can't stand to wait, but a month would be better) and see if your measurements aren't improving.   I know that helps me when my scale is being recalcitrant.

If you're exercising, the 2lbs could be muscle gain.. which is good.  Muscles tend to burn a little more calories even when at rest than non-muscular tissue.

One more thought, the portions sound good on the food intake, but are the calories in the right range for you?  I'm not a nutritionist or dietician, but some shakes are way too high in calories.  Just some things for you to consider.

Best of luck.

I agree with Lisa.  My only other comment may be that your body is in starvation mode which means it isn't getting enough nurishment so it hangs on to everything it gets and won't burn it off.  Just a thought.  Its more likely fat turning to muscle from the exercising.
