Wow, that is a phenomenal wt loss! Congratulations!

I didn't know being obese was a bar to donating blood? It's not like overweight is catching.

Perhaps the blood bank workers weren't able to accept her blood donation previously because they were concerned about the effect of donation on her health, not the health of her blood's recipients.

In the past I was too heavy for their cots and too heavy for them to draw it with me sitting up. I was also anemic. Thanks to my vitamins & healthier eating habits I am no longer anemic. It's something I plan to do every time I am eligible, about every two months.

Their cots have a weight limit which I greatly exceded. There is also a weight limit for being able to sit up to donate. My unhealthy eating habits and lack of vitamins also left me anemic.

It's great to see you again! Don't be a stranger!

Every time I see the blood bank bus here in town, I tell myself, "Go do it!" but I never seem to find the time. Thanks for setting a good example for me.

Jean

I'm not crazy about needles. But it was so much easier and less painful than I thought. My 16 year old has donated twic now. He has set a great example for me. We will definitely be donating again. THe day of donation its important to have plenty of protein and drink plenty of water but no tea at all.
