Lisa,

I had to post this to you in a new post because the OP who you responded to has me blocked and OH would not allow me to respond to you in her post.

I'd like to respectfully address your comment quoted below.

" Also, why was a band failure site allowed to be created?  There's no specific RNY failure or Sleeve failure forum and those surgeries fail too!  I'm surprised that Allergen isn't all over this being that they are a major supporter of this site. "

The reason I created a "Failed Band " group was because there was/is a need for such a group. I'm sure that if someone wanted to create a failed RNY, VSG,BPD,DS and/or Fobi Pouch forum. OH would welcome them to create one.

My group has helped bring support and information to those who have been struggling with their bands. It has been and still is a source of valuable information to pre-ops as well as post ops. We have members of all surgery types over there. We have happy bandsters who are members over there too.

In all fairness I would like to add that 98 % percent of all post's posted over there are support post's. The other 2 % are usually posts alerting members to the fact that NaBlowMe is spouting off her usual " Diarrhea of the Mouth " bull**** post's. I can't speak for everybody over there, but it's not a secret that some of us over there dislike NaBlowMe and her posts that are full of misinformation and
" It's your fault " posting style.

Allergen has no right to " be all over this " as you put it. They do not own this site. They pay to advertise their product here. No more no less. Do you really want Allergen to have censorship power over how we discuss our private medical information ?

I may have had their product implanted in my body, but that does not give them the right to censor what I have to share about my private medical issues. If OH allowed Allergen to censor us based solely on the fact that they paid for advertising space. Then not only would OH lose a lot of posters, but all those doctors and other advertisers would have that SAME censorship right too.

Imagine how useless OH would become if it were run in such a manner.

I believe my group has value and I'm happy that you have had an uncomplicated band experience. I think it's wonderful that you are happy with your band.

Sincerely
Lisa

Hey, Lisa, I have looked at the Failed Band site off an on and have found it to be pretty well balanced, pretty informative, and also think it has decreased some of the "band bashing" that was happening on this site.

Although I haven't had any major complications with my band, I support the right of those who have to get support, information and even to ***** on the forum of their choice.  And I don't rule out the possibility that some day I may need your site for help with decision making.

I hope you felt the support you received in that other thread, both from those whose band has failed them as well as those of us who are still doing well.

I don't want to see Bette leave, or you either.

Judy

I really was supporting you Pumpkin, I think the failed band site serves a purpose and just like any other site it can easily be avoided if it doesn't meet someones needs.

Thank you for your support Judy, It really means a lot to me and I believe that it really does serve a purpose. I saw that OH responded to it and was pleased that they too agree that all information whether it be positive or negative regarding any WLS is of value.
