I think the reason many of us post there vs the failed WLS board is there seems to be a common list of symptoms we are up against, and everywhere else or every time we post we're told that its frankly just not possible.

I understand that you are happy with your band experience, and I'm happy for you, but why try to dictate how those of us that haven't been as lucky voice our experiences?

Where in the world did you get the idea I was trying to dictate to someone??   Grief.    I was expressing that I felt weird about the groups name.. it bugs me, but I'll get over it.  And I haven't had the experience of posting somewhere about my experience and being told whatever it was wasn't possible.  I'm sorry if that has happened to you.  While no one can determine the veracity of anyone on the internet, I think we all should give each of us the benefit of the doubt.  In other words, if you tell me that the sky is green where you live, I'm going to believe you until it's proved otherwise.. because we're on a support site for color blindness (my apologies if you ARE color blind.. it's just an example I pulled out of the air).

If you think what I posted was dictating, you're way too sensitive.
Lisa

Nice letter. I also did join the failed lap-band group because I need to see it all while making my decision and now I want to stay informed so in case I have any of those issues. I also want to support the people that need it even if I may not complete know what they are going through.

Bette,

I agree with everything in your post except this:

OH seems to have lost its focus on helping people and appears far more interested in its advertisers than it is in its users.

I'm an OH advertiser, and they haven't paid any attention to my complaints about the members who've been bashing me and my book, either.

I'm struggling with the same decision as you are - should I stay or should I go? If you go, my reasons for staying here on OH will shrink dramatically.

Aw, Jean, don't worry.  I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the BIG TIME, BIG $$$ advertisers like surgeons.

I believe it would be to the advantage of OH to offer you a full time position.   You are a giving and intelligent woman who would be an asset to this company.!!!!!!!

You know, I've seen this sort of behavior on other boards. I wonder is the anonymity of being on line has people behaving  more outrageous or rude than in other cir****tances? Now, I don't come to the board that often so I haven't really seen or experienced this type of behavior on this board. This type of behavior is the reason I don't come much less post often. However, I would have to say that I really appreciate the insight Bette, Jean, Lisa O. and some others write and found it helpful. I appreciate the sharing you have done. I hope you continue on but you're right Bette, life is hard enough as it is with out this sort of bull**** Take care of yourself.

You wise ones have been appreciated at least by me.
