I hope this photo of me as an immigrant woman and also as the immigrant woman's child will make up for it.

You know, Bette, this is exactly the problem...when all of us who are always willing to support people having genuine problems; giving advice, empathy and tell them to see their doctor rather than depend on medical advice some hand out here, are blocked, then all that will remain is people like Naomi to dish out her load of crap and lies. 
This is why when someone calls us out for "behaving like 2 year olds" because we dare challenge the lap-band self-appointed diva and her misinformation or worse yet, outright lies, it is just not right!  Someone has to stand up and take on this sort of thing and to quote RFK, "If not now, when; if not me, who?"
The only way to deal with this is to couragously challenge her in a respectful and polite way without sarcasm, name-calling or otherwise stooping to her level...provide links, quotes, etc to support the challenge and let the rest of the members draw their own conclusion.
That's just my .02...

I am a firm believer that sunshine is the best disinfectant.   When lies and propaganda are exposed, people learn the truth.

I think that the best thing that comes out of these contentious posts is the sanity that is shed on the bull****  Let stupid people post away.  There are far more smart people here than not.  When stupidity appears, this is a chance to set the record straight with real knowledge.  That knowledge may not come out if everything was status quo.

There is not much any of us can do if people want to believe lies and bull**** after being exposed to sane rational information.  But at least they are given the chance.

Don't know if I am making much sense, but I am trying to say that the truth will win out.

It makes perfect sense Phyllis...we need a lot more disinfectant and a lot less BS lately.

Steph. M., I applaud your use of the quote, but if RFK did say it, he was quoting the first century Rabbinic Sage Hillel the Elder, who said "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? And when I am for myself, what am 'I'? And if not now, when?" found in the Ethics of the Fathers.  This is one of my very favorite quotes.
