I did WW for 5 months after I gained 16 lbs over the holidays.  I needed the accountability at the scale and actually do well with a positive feedback setting, yes, a gold star works for me!  I found the online tools really good, great recipes and articles and I like the point tracking tools.  I found the meetings helpful, (if you have a good leader), but believe you have to participate to be successful.  I know I wouldn't have had any luck if I hadn't done it all the way.  The meetings and the weigh in was critical to my success.

The point system is an easy way to track food, but wasn't helpful to me because I still had to manually calculate protein and calories.  Also, many of the foods allowed on the WW program aren't band freindly so I ended up doing my own diet but used thier motivational tools and weekly weigh in to get encouragement and stay accountable.

If you're willing to participate fully then go for it!

Don't panic, Brock.  It's not helping you stress wise.  Just make your plan and stick to it as best you can.  One day at a time.

Howe's the no sugar, no soda going?

Uh, why is she sabotaging your efforts?  Doesn't she want you to be healthy for your marriage and your children?  Sounds like you two need to have a serious discussion about what it's like to be a food addict and how hard it is to avoid temptation much less those in your own home.  Part of marriage is team work.  She needs to get on board team Brock!

Seriously, my dear, that's a real issue no matter what the reason was for the cake baking.

I think weigh****chers is a great program. As already pointed out, the foods aren't all band friendly. Are you excersising? I highly reccomend you do if your not already. It has so many benefits, just one being weight loss. Start out slow and gradually increase your duration/intensity. 45 pounds is doable but you'll have to work hard for it. Lots of excersise and a lowfat/lowcarb/high protien diet. That's what I did, and I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. You can do it!

KathKeb did Weigh****chers through her journey and she is at goal.

I did WW for a period myself and I lost 20 pounds and stopped going .. I just needed a jumpstart and I need to jump on the scale weekly and be accountable... I counted points for the most part but I really followed more my band rules protein first then veggie a few bites of carb
