Which is better for post-op recovery...a husband or a dog?

Not so long ago, I would have said "DOG" without hesitation. That was when I had 2 small dogs whose combined weight was 30 pounds. If I had an 80-lb boxer, I'd have to think carefully about it. I've seen LIsa O's port incision scar and it's bad. When I had my port repair surgery, we had 8 dogs with a combined weight of 337 lbs, and managing a gang like that when you have a fresh incision isn't much fun. Fortunately for me, I had (and have) a husband to run interference. When I can get him to look away from the television long enough.

I love my dogs, but I never trained them to cook or clean. Husband maybe 30% chance on a good day.

A tough and quite individual call.  The pillow is a great idea.
