I have an appointment for this Tuesday and wish that it was earlier.  I am down 125 pounds since 11/09 and I don't want to start gaining now.  Keep me posted on how you are doing.

It's not your band getting tighter. It's that your stomach tissue is becoming more swollen in reaction to the band.

For instance, my fingers are swollen today because I had pizza last night and it was overly salty. Later today, after I drink a ton of water, hopefully the swelling will subside.

Your body holds on to fluids over night, that's most likely why you're tighter in the morning, too.

Oh, I don't know. I think our bodies do lots of weird and wonderful things on a daily basis.
If it would afford you some peace of mind, though, maybe ask your doc if he or she can check things out for you. Just so you know for certain. It's good to know what's going on, no matter what!

My ankles are all swollen today, too. I just noticed. I'm like a balloon animal!

Evelyn I call it a psycho band. There is often NO rhyme or reason for the band to respond as it does as far as tightness/looseness/stuck/etc.

I got 16 fills in 14 months with no restriction. At that point I completely gave up and stopped wasting my money of fills. This was in Jan. Well in Apr. (a full 3 months after the last fill!) for no apparent reason I got a small amount of restriction. Nothing like it is advertised to be, but the first resembalence of restriction I had had in 1 1/2 yrs. It was fleeting though. Lasted about 3 or 4 weeks I think.

Some have mentioned that it can get tighter when it's very hot. I just kind of assumed that is possibly what happened.

Evelyn,

I hope I am reading your banded date correctly 07/03/11 correct? Maybe you transposed your date, but anyway, be very careful, it seems like you OVERSTUFFED YOUR POUCH...when this happens your band WILL GET TIGHT, because you probably have inflamed tissues surrounding your band and this will surely tighten it up.

You don't want to continue with this pattern, the band will let you get away with eating too much, but if for example, you eat too much every single day to the point of vomiting, as we vets used to call it "Pouch Stuffing" you can cause pouch dilation, which in itself is a mild form of band slippage, pouch dilation is a prelude to full band slippage, if you don't stop eating too much at one sitting, but typically pouch dilation WILL NOT OCCUR if you don't have tight restriction, it only HAPPENS WHEN THE PATIENT EATS TOO MUCH ON A VERY RESTRICTED BAND...IT IS THE SAME THING AS OVER PACKING YOUR TINY POUCH.... remember the band will NEVER STOP us from eating it helps us stop, always look for your soft stops, like a hiccup, burp, sneeze or even a sigh.

I think you are OK for now, but I would highly recommend that you pamper your band now and eat light like soft mushy/liquids to help reduce the inflammation/or liquid tylenol.
