Maintaining?

I have wondering about this for a few weeks now. I hit my first goal weight of 150 about a week ago. And this week I lost another 4lbs. My utimate goal is 130. I realized that 15 lbs isn't so far away so when I get there how do I maintain the weight? I'm going to my Dr. tomorrow so I was going to ask but I figured I'd ask here as well. Is it as simple as just keeping my fill where it is and doing everything I am now?

Congratulations on getting to the goal of 150.

I am a Weigh****cher member -- and this is what they do when you reach your goal.
You spend 6 weeks learning how to maintain.

So, the first week, they have you add approximately 100 calories a day ---- and then you weigh at the end of the week and see if you gained, lost or maintained.

If you lost weight, you add another 50 calories or so per day --- if you gained, you cut back 50 calories a day ==== if you maintained, you stay the same

They have you add 2 - 3 points-plus per day (but that is the equivalent of 100 calories).

Remember that a normal fluctuation is 2-3 pounds from day to day, or from early morning to mid-afternoon weighing -- so, don't get too obessed with the numbers.

Congrats on the weight loss. You are doing great! Everybody is different. Are u pretty tight? You may need a slight unfill. Some people do, some don't. I got a large unfill after maintaining my weight for a few month, actually got 6 pounds below my goal during that time. Anyway, when you loose that last 20 you might want to try adding a snack or two to your diet. I love nuts. Lowfat cheese sticks also makes a good snack. Another thing to try is adding a starch to at least one of your meals-if your not doing so already. A healthy one like whole wheat pasta, brown rice, sweet potatoe. Hope this helps. Best wishes!
