discouraged already
So...I am two weeks out. I am on regular food now. I have no restriction and do not get my first fill until July 14th. I am discouraged and have people constantly asking how much weight have I lost and then I have to explain. I am very hungry and hate that to lose any weight, I have to "diet" all over again. Just wanted to get my thoughts out there.
I did know all this beforehand. I just thought I would be "different" and the band would be enough restriction.

I know my emotions were up and down after surgery. Some call it Buyer's Remorse. Perfectly normal.
The band will eventually help with your hunger and provide the help you need. It doesn't always happen with the 1st or even the 2nd fill. It's a gradual slow process that gives you time to learn to eat the bandster way and keep your band safe, by eating slowly and in very small portions and bites.
Make sure you get plenty of fluids during the day and take short frequent walks etc for exercise. Try to get your mind off hunger by keeping busy with a new hobby etc.
I'm so thankful for my band and the health it has given me. You really will be surprised at how fast the time will go by.

You're in Bandster Hell...no fill yet, your body is recovering from surgery, everything's back to normal, you're hungry, and you do indeed have to "diet" to lose weight at this point. It will get better, though probably not soon enough for you!
When people ask how much weight you've lost, you could respond in a variety of ways. Depending on the person and the situation and my mood, I might say:
(cheerfully) "1000 pounds in 2 weeks!"
(mournfully) "Only 1000 pounds in 2 weeks."
(regretfully) "Not nearly enough."
(sweetly) "My surgeon is very pleased with my progress."
(with a secret smile) "That's for me to know and you to find out."
(with a smirk) "Only my hairdresser knows for sure."
(scientifically) "Why do you ask?"
Hang in there!
