how much weight loss with the band
Revision on 08/21/12
Some don't lose at all until they reach their optimal fill level. I did not lose an ounce for over 3 weeks after surgery then began to lose and reached my goal at 5 months. Others have plateaus. In other words, there is no way to tell. The average is considered 1-2lbs. a week. Some more, some less. I lost inches whenever I wasn't losing weight and I consider that to be way better. Much will depend upon you and what you do with your eating. If you follow your surgeons plan to a T, get your fluids in, concentrate on dense protein and complex carbs you will loose at the proper rate for your body. Good luck.
Don't get discouraged i am in the learning phase as well i lost 24lbs in 3 weeks and then got stuck at 294 and have not moved in a week. I myself did not understand why all of a sudden nothing but i am slowly getting how this is go in to work, and you will to it take a little while but talking to the people on here really helps to understand it.
My goal was to lose 110 pounds. The first year I lost 75 pounds. That gave me an average of 1.4 pounds a week. Since I lost 30 pounds the first month (being on liquids), I went MANY weeks of no weight loss at all!! It was a long frustrating road. I lost slowly my second year also, until my band started slipping......I lost weight pretty rapidly then!
