I am happy, for sure, and still learning. I never heard of anyone saying they "don't go by" restiction - it's a new one!

I dont go by restriction either my doc has never used that word and it was a new word to me . I learned it from here.
My docs right hand side kick which her and I dont get along because we dont see eye to eye how the band should be used she thinks I dont have it because I refuse to get fills or I should say I dont run and get fills every time my belly growls like some of her patients do , and it bugs her . She likes the word restriction.
I think to many people get caught up on that word and its their downfall . imo . I think its a bad word to use .

I don't see why it is bad - to me it just means I get full with less, much less. and that is why I got WLS.
but whatever works for you should be fine - by side kick do you mean nurse? regardless, they should realize if not getting a fill works for you that is the important thing!

Yes its his nurse :o( . I will reschedule if she is the one I have to see . I dont go and see them every month anymore anyways. I just schedule for two months out . He told me at anytime I feel like I need a fill call him and he can work me in that day or the next day .

I suppose I probably do.. I can start to feel full when I eat a measured amount of dense protein and veggies.
What I go by more than feeling full is can I eat my 3oz of protein and 1/2 cup of veggies and be satisfied for several hours. If I'm getting hungry consistently (not just one day, but several days) within 2 hours, I need to evaluate my diet re: carbs, processed foods, water intake, quality/quantity of protein, etc. If the food intake is in good order, and I'm still getting hungry 2 hours after a meal I probably need an adjustment. My goal is to go a minimum of 3 hours and preferrably 4, 5 or even 6 hours between meals.
If you're curious enough, you can read Dr. Simpsons article about banding and how it's not about restriction. I don't know if it would have value for a sleeve patient, but it might as we're both dealing with restrictive surgeries. Just remember when reading it's heavily band focused since that's what Dr. Simpson does. :)

to me, restriction means everything is working right - you eat what you should be and are satisfied.
I know people don't always have the same experiences. I do best when I eat more frequently - every 2 to 3 hours.
