Congrats! You will love how you feel. The less sugar, refined carbs, and artifical sugar you have in your system the less cravings you will have for them and the better you will feel.
I used to drink soda like it was water and down sugar (double stuffed, anyone?) like it was my oxygen. Now after 11 weeks I have no cravings and feel in control of my cravings for food.
You will feel so good. I am happy for you. Stay strong as the first days are the hardest.
Good luck.

It'll feel like a million years at first but really in a few days to a week you'll feel much better. I used to drink probably 6 or more diet sodas a day and I quit cold turkey before my band. It was awful at first but now I don't miss them a bit, I actually prefer ice cold water instead. You can do it!

Here are some things that help me when I need to 'de-tox'
1. I plan little indulgences (for example, I LOVE cheese and nuts, so I allow myself to eat a little more of them as I remove the sugars/carbs)
2. I plan activity -- even an easy walk -- just something to get me out of the house, away from the pantry and fridge
3. I go to bed early -- and try to get as much sleep as possible (fewer hours awake to focus on the side-effects of de-tox)
4. self-talk -- reminding myself that 'pain is temporary, this will get easier, I can do this'
Good luck ---
