Setting the record straight

Since a certain individual has chosen to lie about my satisfaction with my WLS choice, Steph, I have a life and a very fulfilling one at that....I don't have time to sift through pages to find that posts where you rambled about your REGRET for the band and how you wished you had gotten the Sleeve.....
I feel I have no option but to post that I am currently very happy with my choice, satisfied with my progress and not considering a revision.  I have asked her to retract or prove her statement www.obesityhelp.com/forums/lapband/4400931/I-am-THINKING-ABO UT-A-REVISION-at-6-years/action,replies/topic_id,4400931/pag e,3/ and she has ignored me until now.

It isn't that big of a deal, except I never, ever said that.  I am fine with my band....

Thanks for reading.

Steph

Steph mah dear,

What you need to realize is that a rational, sane, intelligent person such as yourself cannot engage in rational, sane and intelligent conversation with a person who does not possess those same faculties.

WHO FREAKING CARES..............I decided to post a very informative study about band slippage and YOU turned my simple post into a witch hunt this is what you and a few sneaky woman that are very respected here always do, I don't get it you SAY you are here for support...WHAT ARE YOU REALLY HERE FOR...I was just trying to help newbies and some oldies....if your band is on the brink of slippage...DON'T blame me...I guess those who have slipped their bands or who is having trouble DO NOT WANT NEWBIES TO SEE ...that perhaps maybe if they followed post op instructions they may avoid misery with their bands....could it be too late for you...you seem to have a ax to grind

I am new here, especially to posting as I have been more of an observer for the past few months.

But I really do not understand what is going on here. These boards are for support and that is what they should be for. I go to a support group at a hospital once a month and there are people who attend who have all of the various WLS. We are all nice and supportive to each other, because we all are in person and have the same goals- to lose weight.

We all have the same destination so why are people arguing which way is the best to get there. In a metaphor, would you argue with your friend at a support group that the best way to get there every month is to take the train versus going by bus? What if someone added in the driving yourself is the only way to get there. And this goes on until people are angry with each other. At some point one of your friends would say "what is wrong with us, we are arguing about which way to travel to the group is best, when really all that is important is that we all get to the support group!"

If people have had a bad time with the LapBand that is unfornuate and we all wish you the best in whatever you choose. I like the LapBand and really don't want the boards (where I go for online support)  to be filled with this stupid banter about which WLS is best. We all have problems with food or "like food a little too much" and that is why we are here, the surgery we chose to help us in this process is up to the individual and only the individual. If you are not here for support then I think the boards are better off without you.

Have a good afternoon. And please lets stop this BS, we are all on this weight loss journey together and irregardless of the surgery still have the same mental connections with food that need to be fixed for continued and lifetime success. That is what we all had surgery for- the lifetime success- not to have debates about which WLS is better on Obesity Help.com's forums.

God Bless.

do you just wish us well & wave ?

i've asked before - i'll ask again, where should those with problems post?

most of us do online support - so thankfully OH lets you customize your experience.   i clearly don't want a lapband board  with those less than 6 months  deciding for those new reading on what WLS to choose......would have LOVED to read through some of this mess when first deciding, but that would be the experience i want here.

I think you are missing the point.  Most of these posts from former lapbanders are about support:  Support for those seeking an array of experiences with the band and support for those who are having problems, and especially support for those that are blaming themselves for the failure of a flawed product.

Discussing experiences (good, bad, and ugly) with newbies *****quest such information is support.

Discussing problems with those suffering complications is also support.

These are people who need support too even if you are unable to understand their needs.

In your scenario of traveling to the meeting...what if 30-60% of the time, the bus breaks down and never makes it to the destination, sometimes even causing injury to the passengers whereas the train or car has a much higher success rate. Yet, the bus is low on revenue, so they are advertising it heavily and effectively.

You've been on the bus when it wrecked, and it was scary. Now you've had much better success with the train. Do you share this information with your friends who want to take the bus and don't even know about the train or car options?! I sure would!!! I want people to succeed in their mission and I want to support them in meeting their goals.

Got to love Na Blow Me and her antics.  At least she doesn't play the race card, like she did back in the day.
