HI Bella,

First me personally I think I would find something more healthier then the WW Smart Ones for lunch.  There is nothing wrong with one here and there but not every day.  Usually, things like that are very full of sodium and trust me sodium is NOT a good thing for people trying to lose weight .   I have looked at some of them and some of them have almost half of your sodium allowed for the day on  just one meal so I would be very careful .

If you could I would pack up something from what you had for dinner the night before.  I always fix extra so I can have some for my dinner that night and  then eat the other part of it for lunch the next day .

Another thing them Smart Ones or easy to eat meals like that do not have enough protein and that is probably why you are getting hungry.  If I would eat them I would be hungry within hrs they are just not filling at all.

You need to eat at least 20 -25 grams of protein per meal to keep you full or that is what I do :o)

Question 2

You can go and do your fills at anytime as long as they are after four weeks apart or that is what most docs want you to do .  Mine makes you wait at least four weeks before he will even consider another fill.  If you want to do them every six weeks as long as you need one then go for it.  It's your body and your choice if you want a fill or not , not the docs :o)

Question 3

Adding more fiber to your diet . If you can eat salads eat those .   I eat about four salads a week to help me stay reg.  Buy foods that has more fiber in it.   I buy bread that has alot of fiber in it.  If I eat cereal I buy high fiber cereal.  Add more veggies to your diet :o)

Question 4

There is alot of people that join weigh****chers for s upport .  Just remember we eat different then them so you need to watch their eating plan

Question 5

I'm not a candy or sweets eater but if I do crave the candy I sometimes get the sugar free candy , usually I just go buy the real thing and eat it if I want it .  You really need to watch it though just because its sugar free its not carb free and that stuff is high in carbs.  If you eat it log it .  That is my motto.

1 -I like to eat the weigh****chers smart ones for lunch...but they dont fill me up I am looking for a good side to go with it....suggestions please.  I really want to suggestion something other than frozen dinners.  They are generally high in sodium and are filled with chemicals and preservatives.  It's better to eat food you made your self.  I know it's hard with a busy schedule but worth the effort.  I am having grilled chicken strips and cottage cheese today for lunch.  It took me about 5 minutes on the George Foreman grill to make them...yummy.  But to answer your question and stop preaching...trying adding a fruit...like an apple (plus apples help your metabolism!!!)

2 - I was banded on 02/15/2010 and had 1 fill I am scheduled for every 4 weeks but think that every 6 would be better....do  I have to stick to the 4 weeks or is it ok to change to 6? My doctor always did fills 6 weeks apart but it drove me nuts because I wanted to go in sooner.  I say you do what you feel is right for you.

3- Been having problems going #2 any natural suggestions other than take a laxative? I think prunes or raisins are good for that.

4- Would joining Weigh****chers be a help or a hinderance? I hear a lot of people go to WW after surgery, I do know some people feel it's too much food but otherwise it's good.  I think they like the fellowship of the people and like to be accountable to someone.

5- I like sugar free candy...bad or good thing? My Nut said no to sugar free candy. When I asked why she said it was habit I shouldn't start.  So I didn't start the habit.  Now I read that artificial sugar can cause weight gain.

Hi!!

We share the same surgeon.  Maybe we'll see one another on fill day some day soon!!

1 - for me the weigh****chers meals all taste the same.  They all taste like mush too!!  I would suggest something with more dense protein.  I like deli turkey, turkey chili, even tuna.

2 - Were you banded on 2/15/10 or 2/15/11?  If you've only had one fill in over a year that's pretty excellent!  I was banded on 3/29/11 and haven't had a fill yet.  I am scheduled to go every 4 weeks and pretty much keep it there to see my progress.  I don't see why they would have a problem with you going every 6 weeks.  I already told the ladies in Dr. A's office that I may cancel my July appointment if I don't need a fill again.  They've also told me to just call in to make an appointment if I find myself needing a fill before then.

3 - Laxatives aren't great for you.  A stool softener is more appropriate.  I would say to add fibre to your diet.  I go at least once a day.  Granted it's not a whole lot, but it keeps things moving inside.  I go to Netrition.com for Fiber Sprinkles and that works very well.

4 - WW is probably the greatest diet known to mankind.  It never hurts to eat like that.

5 - No feelings one way or another on the sugar free candy.  I don't do it, just never been a candy person.

1.  I used to keep a Lean Cuisine or something like that in the freezer for emergencies, but no more.  There's tons of better things to eat.  The other posters have given you good suggestions.  In a hurry, I can use the Bumblebee Chicken or Tuna Salad to go kits.  Then have an apple or strawberries or a cup of low fat, low sugar yogurt.

2. Your body, your choice on how often to have a fill.  I went in every month when I was newly banded and didn't always get a fill.. sometimes we just talked about how I was doing.

3. How much water are you getting?  If you're not getting at least 64 oz of water (or other very low calorie fluid ~ no more than 10 cal/16oz~), try to increase it.  I've had already 76 oz today and it's not 1pm yet.

4. Lots of bandsters do WW for the support.  Give it a try, see if it's helpful to you.

5. I've never asked my nutritionist about s/f candy.  I suppose it would depend on how often you're eating it.  I have a bag of s/f crystal lite candies on my kitchen counter.. I might eat 1 a week if I think about it.  If you're eating a bag of them in a day.. not good.  If you have one or two (I'm assuming that they're 5 calories like the C.L.) a day it shouldn't be an issue.   If they're 50 calorie candies.. then one or two a day is taking up too much of the calories you need for real food.   You should probably discuss this when you go in for your next appointment.

Hope this helps.

I would tend to agree with the other posters about the Weigh****chers meals
They are very high in sodium and have no where near the protein you would need.
The serving size (for ones I have seen) is above the 1/2 cup limit I have...and most of them are carbs..

I have taken to bringing in food from home.. I will sometimes broil a piece of fish or chicken - measure out my 3 ounces for 2-3 meals...

Going for fills is something you can do on your schedule. They may schedule you every 4 weeks in advance because they have lots of clients who need to be seen...
This way you have a spot if you need it...
You might not. Everyone reacts to their fills differntly. Perhaps you will need 2 right away and feel okl for a couple of months...
But then you may have to get another ....  Very individual!!!

I think weigh****chers is great for the support. However, I don't think there eating plan is high enough in protien, and I think it's too high in carbs. If you want to just go to the meetings for the support and fellowship- go for it!
Also, I totally agree with other posters, ditch the frozen meal. You need more protien than it provides. That will help you stay full longer. Good luck!

The WW Points Plus system advocates a balanced diet that is high in lean protein.

They allow you the freedom to have a reasonable amount of carbs --- but don't encourage simple carbs.

I will agree that their pre-packaged meals are all too high in carbs (pasta/potatoes because they are cheap to prepare) but the 'make it yourself' plan is very focused on protein to satisfy hunger.
