Yippee!!! Restriction!!!

I got my first fill on Thursday, and I now feel restriction!!!  I ate my homemade chili last night, and ate just 1/2 cup and was satisfied.  I've also dropped 4 pounds in the 3 days since then.  I'm so glad because I was the same weight for a month before the fill.  Finally I can say,"I love my band."  Onederland, here I come!

Yeah!!

Just remember that as you lose, the band will probably need tightening again.  The green zone isn't static, it changes.  :)

I was worried that it might take a few weeks to notice the difference since so many people have posted that they didn't notice a difference at first.  How much saline do you have in your band, Lisa?  He said I had 2 cc in from the surgery, and he added 2 cc more.  He also said I had the standard band, not the large.  I don't know what size that means it is.  Do you?  It's not a Realize band.

I've lost track of exactly how much I have.. I think it's more than 5.5, but less than 6.5.

There are three levels of fluid with the band, not enough, too much and just right.  :)

If you have the AP Standard band, you have a 10cc band.  That's what I have.  I came out of surgery with 3cc's in mine and my first fill was 1cc.  That 4cc's took me probably about  2 months and then I needed another .5 added.  Your 4cc's might last you longer or shorter.. hard to know.  It's so individual.   Glad yours is working for you now.  Isn't it a great feeling to be satisfied on a small amount of food?

It's the battle with head hunger that I have the worst trouble with...  I'm not hungry, but this mouth wants to chomp chomp chomp.  Thank goodness for chewing gum (and I know some say not to do it with the band... but for me it's a life saver).

The thing that is hardest to avoid for me is sweets.  So I got some high protein, low carb bars to eat once in a while and they really help me.  Thanks for the info.

Im soo HAPPY for you.  Im doing the same thing. When I got my 1st fill last Monday and I have been feeling mine too. I hope it doesn't go away. I only have 1cc in my band. I did get 2cc, but he had to take 1cc out because I was too tight and couldn't swallow any water. But anyway, I have lost alot of water wt and 5lbs of real wt. So I know just how you feel. Its just a wonderful feeling.
My hubby doesn't have restriction, but he has 3cc in his band. He is still losing like CRAZY. He has lost 70lbs total and 17lbs since May 27th (when he got his fill).

The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time...

It's so hard when our husbands lose weight so fast.  Mine eats all kinds of junk, and he still loses.  He didn't get a band though.  Keep up the great work--both of you.  Thanks for the encouragement.

I had a fill last week..and still haven't lost anything....the nurse who did my fill said my band only held 3cc's...can that be? Head hunger stinks...and I'm getting frustrated

Redhead, the older bands held 4cc's.  Just ask at your next appt for clarification.
Getting a fill only helps with dimming your appetite, it's still calories in versus calories out as far as weight loss goes.
