Does a else have a *super easy* time eating bread & pasta?
Out of curiosity...because I've heard these foods are supposed to be difficult for bandsters to eat. I wish they were cause I might avoid them more ;) But it seems like bread and pasta are among the easiest things for me to eat. In the morning when I'm super tight I couldn't eat egg but I can eat a bran muffin no problem. Even the worst types of breads (all white) are no problem and I swear seem to help everything else go down easier. Anyone else have this experience?
I dont have an issue...But because I know they are easy for me, I do my best not to have them w/ suppers or anything. I mean I have them w/ suppers but I don't always eat them. I had white bread for the first time since my surgery, March 23, last weekend. I had 1 pc w/ peanut butter and homeade jelly......I have been off carbs for this long I don't want to bring them back. I do have them, like if we have chinese food, I will eat my protein first w/ a couple bites of rice. Oh my hubby gets so mad sometimes w/ the food I don't eat...he said that it makes him feel like a pig...I said I'm sorry, this is all I can eat...
I can't eat in the morning either, so I do a protein shake in the morning or greek yogurt w/ strawberries w/ splenda!! I cant' do eggs at all...I really can't do hard boiled eggs. oh they feel like they get stuck big time...its horrible...
I am so sorry for the rambling!! Geez, I don't know when to shut up sometimes!! LOL
Good luck!!

I was able anything I wanted, as much as I wanted for the first year or so after surgery because I didn't feel much restriction. There became a time that I started to limit and finally just cut out bread and pasta completely. Not really because I can't eat it but more because it fills me up very quickly and then I can't eat my protein or veggies. Protein and veggies is more important. So I started to eat the protein and veggies first then saving the starches for last. But after eating my protein and veggies I am satisfied and eating the starchy foods would be just forcing myself to eat something I don't need physically and only want mentally. So I just stopped eating it. I haven't cut all carbs. I still eat wheat tortillas, oatmeal and fruit.
I hear you, but that's the weird part for me, I have a really good level of restriction when it comes to protein but bread and pasta are basically sliders and I feel like I could eat an infinate amount of them. Don't worry, I don't! I just thought it wasn't supposed to be like that. In fact, if I'm trying to eat some dense protein and it's being difficults, if I add a few bites of pasta or bread, I can get the protein down more easily. Guess I'm just a freak ;)

If I take small enough bites, bread and pasta do not give me any problems.
Honestly, muffins/pancakes/donuts are all on my "not my food" list --- because I am pretty sure that my band would not stop them at all, and I can't eat them moderately.
I occasionally have a few nibbles of a well-toasted English Muffin with no problem.
I can eat toast, pizza crust, macaroni/pasta --- the cheesier, the easier -- LOL
The only 2 foods that consistently give me trouble (strangely enough) are french fries and lettuce.
I think that I don't chew the lettuce enough -- and I think that I take bites of ff that are just too big.
I am better off without both, so I have pretty much surrendered to these 2 foods.
I order 'fish and chips' alot, and I eat the fish (removing most of the breading) and leave the ff behind or let my dh eat them.

I really don't have a problem with any foods, as long as the bites are small enough. Now dense proteins sometimes have to be english pea sized bites if the meat is dry. And as far as bread goes, if it's big and fluffy, a pinch or 2 is all I usually have room for, and I did learn the hard way to pinch it off. The few things I've gotten stuck on are usually due to bite sizes or fast eating.
