I'm down 55 pounds 200. wooohooo. That was my first goal. What should the next goal be? Idk. My bandiversary will be July29th, What is the normal of weight one should loose in the first year of being banded? Your comments please.

Congrats.  There is no set amount of weight you should loose.  The goal is to do all you can by following the rules.  Drinking your water, exercising, protein first.  Watch out for slider foods and picking up old habits.  Focus on making wise food choices.  If you haven't been eating out, prepare your mind for what you will do and how you will not give in and make poor decisions.  If you are a quick loser, realize that it will slow down.  If you are a slow loser realize that it will slow down.  So you will have to speed up by adding a little more exercise but don't get discouraged.  If you work at it the weight will come off.

Congrats on your weight loss!  There is no "normal" amount for the 1st year.  Whatever you lose is great!

As far as goals go, I've learned to not set scale goals!  Set behavior related goals.  YOU can control your behavior, you can't always control the scale.

Keep up the good work,
Kristi

I really like what you said, "You can control your behavior, you can't always control the scale."  Well said!!!
One day at a time, and one meal at a time, and I WILL reach my goal!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  As far as stats go, I think my doc has told me that approx 50% of bandsters lose 50% of their excess weight in the first year.

Average weight loss with a band is 1 to 2 lbs a week.  If you've lost 55 lbs, you're right on target!

Make your next goal whatever you are comfortable with..enough to give yourself a little push, but not so much you'll get discouraged if it takes longer than you think it should.

CONGRATULATIONS, You're doing splendidly.
