2 wks after surgery I have several questions. Please give me the benefit of your knowledge?
I need ideas on pureed meals that are quick and easy. I just started the puree part of the diet and I am excited about finally getting some nutrition. Also, is it normal to have hunger pains only two weeks after surgery. When will the swelling in the stomach be done with? Have others felt moody at all this soon after surgery? I hope people don't mind all the questions. I appreciate your replies and thank you very much.
Yes, all completely normal. You will be hungry because you don't have any fills in your band as yet. This is what we call bandster hell. A little buyer's remorse at this time also pretty common. As you start mushies you my even gain a little weight back, which is also common and makes people frustrated. The good news...it will get better! As far as mushies I liked...ff refried beans with plain greek yogurt and cheese, plain greek yogurt with a couple of teaspoons of ff ss pudding mix mixed in or pureed fruit. Tuna/chicken and egg salads.
I found that - to my surprise - purees were easy and actually tasty.
Any food that you like can be broiled, grilled or baked, then pureed with a little broth and whatever spices you like. I did a lot with salmon, but you can use any kind of protein. The trick is to add spices/flavor so you don't end up with a spoonful of bland yuck.
You can do the same with veggies and with fruit, but using juice instead.

Some things that I am having now (I am 3 weeks out from surgery and I am on final week of pureeds): scrambled eggs with melted cheese and pureed salsa on top, pureed chili (homemade then pureed meat and beans with a little liquid and froze in ice cube trays), ricotta bake (see website below for this recipe and others), tuna and canned chicken salad. Last but not least sugar free pudding d popsicles.

I get hungry but not miserably. Haven't been moody at all. I feel good and have been working out regularly so I am sure this contributes to my overall well being.

I am walking over 3 miles per day it takes me 1 hour. I am going through the process of selling my in a short sale so it has me a little on edge. Lots going on with trying to get the house ready to look at. I appreciate your help and congradulation on your success. I also appreciate your advise you are a gem.
