Have Lap Band Surgery....just sayin
Thank you band for breathing life back into my life.. I was becoming a person who smiled on the outside and hated myself on the inside. I love myself alot more in the inside these days!!!

I agree!!!  I sometimes will look at people that were the same size I was before I lost weight (354lbs) and I almost shiver at the thought of having to live my life like them ever again.  Regain is now my biggest fear....

AGREED Lis.  The band has absolutely changed my life - I never felt this with my original surgery (RNY).  I never had the knowledge to succeed at WLS, nor the drive...ALL of which I have now and that has made it so much easier to lose the weight and maintain my weight loss for the last 18 months.

I speak LOUD and PROUD about my experience with the band thus far.  Thanks for your positive post!

Experienced a leak in my port, and had no restriction for over 9 months. Had leak repair surgery on 1/31/11 and am back on my journey again! :)

AGREED!  I truly believe our "successes" with the band are a true testament to our willpower and our strength.  The band is the hardest out of all the WLS to find success.

I agree what was said above, I see those who were my size at 333 pounds and I just want to run up to them and give them a hug, give them my business card, and tell them I know how I can help you but I'll get beat up or killed  LOL!  But hey, in due time...

all the weight has been lost post-op..I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

highest weight: 333 pounds (I know I gained after my last "weigh in" in the doctors office so probably it's more like 340 pounds)
current weight: 151 pounds (7/12/11)
I've been at goal (165 pounds) for 6 months now and now on maintence.  I tend to go up and down depending on time of the month and such!

Why the    face?  If you're happy with your choice, you don't need  that feller!

Those of us who had bands that failed need that guy!
I just have to address one other thing. I love myself inside and out, no matter what weight I am. What happens if you regain? (Like I did!)  That's more of a self esteem issue than a weight issue, honestly. I liked my appearance better when I was thinner, but I felt horrible, physically. I figure that life is too short to feel awful every day and I have to love myself, in spite of my butt being bigger now.    I still try to carry myself with confidence and that's what is important.

I am happy for you that you're feeling good. I don't quite understand the anger toward those of us who had bad experiences, though.  I truly hope your band keeps working for you... all of the folks who have them.  That's not snark. That's my honest hope for you.
