Is Weigh****chers for failures?
So,I joined Weigh****chers. For some reason, I feel like I've failed with the band. I had a slip a year ago, and my surgeon will not fill me due to prior complications and my more than "50%" success. Ihave had the band a little over two years. I couldn't believe when I weighed yesterday and I was 20 lbs. up from my lowest. Any suggestions. Any one have success with Weigh****chersand the band?
I don't think joining weigh****chers means anyone is a failure. Some people need different support from different areas. The band only makes you full on less, it does not take away those cravings, head hunger, make you exercise. There are a couple people on here that do, do weigh****chers. I think it could be a good thing to help you get your "head" back into the game. I feel the "head" is the most important thing in long term weight loss. Good luck, you are making good choices for you.

I went to one weigh****cher meeting the end of last year to try to help me get down as low as I could but I don't like counting points although a personal trainer told me that was the best diet as far longevity. I bought all of the stuff and never used it, its in the back seat of my car right now chilling. Like you, I've gained 27 more lbs from my lowest but I've buckled down and lost 13 lbs of that so I'm looking forward to getting back into my skinny jeans and thats through proper diet and exercise. I've layed off th sweets and bread and I basically eat "clean" and workout just about every day and like the beginning, the weight is falling off. Its a matter of changing our lifestyle for good and not settling for get thin quick ideas because that never lasts forever plus your body has to adjust to weight loss and we do gain muscle. Don't beat yourself up, this isn't easy for any one and if they say it is they're lying. LOL
If your band is empty then you have to use some kind of program! WW is a very succesful program that's works for lots of folks. If you've lost the majority of your weight then this should help you maintain pretty well and will keep you accountable. Is there anyway you can revise to another surgery? Good luck!

I am an active WW member -- and while I might be a 'loser' I am no failure.
I re-joined WW about 6 weeks post-op and I followed their program (modified to my caloric needs) and got to my goal weight in 18 months.
I am now a Lifetime member, attending meetings regularly and continuing to get education, fellowship and accountability from the program.
I use all sorts of 'tools' to be sucessful.
I attend WW meetings,
I attend monthly Local Support Groups
I follow an on-line OA group
I post here (and on a Yahoo Band-friendly group)
If you go to WW with a good attitude and open mind, I think that you can gain alot of benefit from it --- if you go because you see yourself as a failure, it could be a waste of your time and money.
