Any of you whether you still have your bands or have already revised have any port side swelling ?

I had port side swelling with my band and I still have it 21 days after having it removed.

The only thing I can offer is that there is still some inflammation left over from having the port constantly irritating you.

There is probably scar tissue there too.  I can still feel a little thickness where my port was.  It was sewn to my right rib cage which is a very touchy spot because it is so close to the bone.

Try some cool compresses and make sure there is no redness or heat associated with it.  And none of those wild shenanigans either!

I have heard it takes about a month, but I would call and ask the dr in case of infection.   My port was the worst part of the band surgery healing.  Also ice just might help, and never give up on Wild Shenanigan's!

You will have that for a couple of months.  The swelling is caused by fluids taking up the space where your port used to be. Eventually your body will deal with the excess and it will go down.  Mine started out the size of a small tennis ball and is now about the size of a nickle.

Yup a tennis ball is a correct description. Does yours swell more as the day goes on ? My stomach looks really lopsided later in the day and it is so tender.

I has a ouchie

Hell, wild shennanigans make life worth living!

It took about 2 months for the swelling to go down where my port was, it's from all the scar tissue and irritation.

And after everything you've been through, you deserve all the wild shennanigans you can get!!!!

Its probably fluid built up under your skin. Does it hurt ?? You can the the fluid removed. I just went for my 1st fill and I had swelling around my port. The dr. told me is was normal, I 4got what he said it was. But anyway he just drained the fluid out. It was about 10cc of fluid. Now I have no fluid at all. Maybe see if they can drain the fluid, instead of you having to deal with that swelling. 21days is a very long time.
Good Luck...
