question about band repair/replacement?

hi, i know all insurance companies have different criteria, but i am wondering.................
if you have a slipped band and require repair or replacement, do you think it matters what your current weight is? I have less than 20 lbs to be in the "healthy weight" category and  I am concerned that they will assume that the band is no longer necessary..... Anyone with insight to share? thanks so much

I just had my band repaired on June 6th.  Insurance did cover it, even though I was a self-pay at the initial surgery (that insurance didn't cover any WLS).  When it was approved I was about 30 pounds over ideal weight.

When I had my band repositioned I was probably about 30 pounds from a normal BMI and it was never a question.  My doc didn't think I would qualify for a RNY revision at the time because of it, but to fix an already existing band was not an issue.

yay! was very nervous about that.... how long ago was the repair and have you had any issues since? also, was your repair due to a slippage? thanks : )

I had my replaced on May 12 and the surgery was soooo much easier! but being down 50lbs makes a big difference, surgery was on Thursday and I was back to work Tuesday. Pain meds only until Saturday. Big difference.

My insurance company paid for the surgery to reposition my flipped port. I guess they wanted to protect the investment they had made in my original band surgery!
