I am about 7 weeks post opp (April 26), lost 20 pounds very quickly and have been battling to lose and keep off the last 5 for 3 weeks or so.  I check and see what you guys  are all eating and I'm eating the same, drinking 80 to 100 oz of water daily and taking my vitamins.  I have been doing curves workout 4 days a week and walking a  four mile mountain hike on the weekends.  what am i doing wrong? why cant i lose any more weight?  I had 1 fill at about 4 weeks post opp. Help:(

Dawn,

You might have just hit a stall on weight loss. You dropped alot of weight in a short time, you just had surgery and your body is just getting use to everything right now :o)

I know it's very frustrating .  I drop about 10 pounds and then I will not lose anything for a good week up to three weeks at a time also. My longest stall has been six weeks so far *sigh*.

All we can do is make sure we are following the rules,  exercising and the weight will come off :o) .

also you just started back to solid foods I bet also being seven weeks out that will play a big part in all this also .  I gained almost 7 pounds from weeks 2 to week 7 and I was on solids for a good two weeks or so before I started to lose again .

Dont get frustrated easier said then done I know lol . and please dont weight in every day dont let them scales become your obsession. That will be your biggest downfall right there if you let that  happen.  Pick a day and weigh in on that day only.   I can weigh in on Friday drop 2 pounds and by Monday be back up 5 pounds.   Every day is so different because of the foods we eat, the sodium , the heat , that TOM if you still have t hem.

You are doing just fine keep your chin up :o)

I agree with Steerlerfan, I had a plateau at around 3 weeks. I believe our bodies are saying "WHAT"S GOING ON?????" Just keep following the rules and the weight will come off, you could also be losing inches. You're doing great!!

I've had this happen to me.  There are two things I do to get me through plateaus:

1) I take measurements every month. I do it on a day when I'm not working out, preferably before eating anything (or at least not much) and wearing the same style bra & underwear.  When the scale isn't moving, the tape measure often is.

2) Every 4 or 5 months I kick my exercise up a notch for several weeks by taking an extra class or doing bootcamp.  I'd love to be able to do bootcamp continuously like some of my friends.. but my knees need at least a month in between to feel better.

I don't know about curves I've never been, but it could be that it isn't vigorous enough a workout for you.  Just a thought.

Another thought, you may be building muscle and while a pound of muscle & pound of fat weight the same, the muscle takes up less space in the body.

Hang in there.. and keep following the bandster guidelines and the weight should continue to come off.  Lucky you to have mountains to climb!!
